Download the 1.4.5 beta version and drag Synergy.app to your applications folder. Launching from there will be easier than creating conf files. Make sure your other machines are using the same version. Get it here: http://synergy-foss.org/download/ If you are stuck using 1.3.8 then try opening TextEdit.app, creating a plain text file (cmd+shift+t), and saving it as synergy.conf The official documentation (http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/configuration.html) is more thorough in content of the conf file.
